We apologize for the downtime on TechPress.
Unfortunately, the host we were hosting with was DDoSed by an attacker. This attacker used a botnet to bring down our blog and forums. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. As of Wednesday 5th of Dec, the Server Load was 15.66, this is when the DDoS attack commenced, during the DDoS attack, PHP levels went skyrocketing, instead of the normal 2.11% PHP Utilisation, we were seeing 97% utilisation PHP and 2% SQL.
Our usual loading time is 2ms, but during this attack, we went out of the millisecond standard our blog and forum is known for.
Generated in 3.296 seconds (97.22% PHP / 2.78% MySQL)
SQL Queries: 26 / Server Load: 4.23 / Memory Usage: 10 MB
Traffic at the time of the DDoS attack was averaging around 4MB per min, which was causing slowdown for incoming web traffic, such as Is It Down Right Now and Google.
At this point in time, there is no threat to sue, but if this action continues a Subpoena will be performed to find this attacker.
Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience this outage caused.
